The KG Bench is a solid wood bench carved from a single slab — Canaletto Walnut or ebonized Oak. The seat surface follows a sinuous curve that meets the body comfortably, designed for actual sitting rather than visual effect. The edges are cut thin to read as a delicate plane, while the section thickens mid-depth where structural strength is needed. It's an optical trick: the bench looks lighter than it is.
The legs are solid wood and attached to the top with precision joinery. The cantilevered ends — the unsupported lengths to the left and right of the legs — are carved thinner still, intensifying the floating quality. The piece reads as a sculptural object that happens to seat three.
It arrives flat in a custom box and assembles in minutes: the legs attach to the underside of the carved top with concealed joinery. Easy to move and easy to disassemble — the joints hold through repeated reassembly without loosening.
Designed in Brooklyn by Italian architect Alessandro Preda. Handmade in Italy by master artisans, in solid Canaletto Walnut or ebonized Oak. Each piece is hand-sanded, hand-stamped with a unique serial number, and shipped with a signed certificate of authenticity.

The joinery system
The legs pressure-fit into notches cut by our proprietary CNC program. Two bolts secure each one. The joint holds without glue and can be assembled and disassembled as many times as life demands — without loosening, without degrading.
