The MiMi Desk and Table is a real desk that doubles as a dining table — for people whose work and life share the same room. At 56 inches wide it's large enough for two monitors and a sketchbook spread open, or a quiet dinner with friends. Seats four comfortably, six on occasion. The faceted geometry catches light from different angles as you move around the room, so the colors shift as the day does. Its essential lines sit as easily next to a dining chair as they do an office task chair. Clean enough to disappear into a room, precise enough to hold it together.
Pair it with the MiMi Bench on one side and two chairs on the other, and tuck the bench underneath when not in use. Two desks form a square. Three pushed together create a shared studio workspace — the legs are designed so adjacent legs visually merge into one. One system, many configurations.

Easy to move and easy to disassemble — the joints hold through repeated reassembly without loosening, so the desk moves with you when you move.
Designed in Brooklyn by Italian architect Alessandro Preda. Handmade in Italy by master artisans, in FSC-certified plywood and wood veneer with a commercial-grade hand-finished surface. On solid-color finishes, the oak grain remains visible beneath the color. Each piece is hand-sanded, hand-stamped with a unique serial number, and shipped with a signed certificate of authenticity.

Tabletop: Canaletto Walnut or Sessile Oak veneer over 13-ply FSC-certified birch plywood. On solid-color finishes (Ebonized and Cobalt Blue), the oak grain remains visible beneath the color, preserving the wood's character.
Legs: 13-ply FSC-certified birch plywood with commercial-grade hand-applied painted accent finish.

The joinery system
The legs pressure-fit into notches cut by our proprietary CNC program. Two bolts secure each one. The joint holds without glue and can be assembled and disassembled as many times as life demands — without loosening, without degrading.
